Overall situation


According to customs statistics, in the first six months of 2025, China's total import and export of agricultural products was 147.84 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%. Among them, exports were 49.34 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%; imports were 98.5 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%; the trade deficit was 49.16 billion US dollars, narrowing by 19.6% compared with the same period last year.


In June, China's total import and export of agricultural products was 26.66 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%. Among them, exports were 8.13 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%; imports were 18.53 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%; the trade deficit was 10.4 billion US dollars, an increase of 9.4% over the same period last year.


Key export agricultural products


Aquatic products: The cumulative export volume was 2.138 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%, and the export value was 9.8 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.


Grain: Cumulative export volume was 1.373 million tons, up 38.5% year-on-year, and the export value was US$870 million, up 26.2% year-on-year.


Key imported agricultural products


Meat (including offal): Cumulative import volume was 3.204 million tons, down 2.7% year-on-year, and the import value was US$11.56 billion, up 0.2% year-on-year.


Dried and fresh fruits and nuts: Cumulative import volume was 4.762 million tons, up 7.5% year-on-year, and the import value was US$10.01 billion, down 9% year-on-year.


Grain: Cumulative import volume was 62.763 million tons, down 25.4% year-on-year, and the import value was US$26.44 billion, down 27% year-on-year. Among them, the cumulative import volume of soybeans was 49.37 million tons, up 1.8% year-on-year, and the import value was US$22.03 billion, down 12.4% year-on-year.


Edible vegetable oil: Cumulative import volume was 3.187 million tons, down 8.6% year-on-year, and the import value was US$3.89 billion, up 12% year-on-year.
